Manila, Philippines, January 27, 2009 “ During a special awarding ceremony held at the Rector's Hall in UST last January 27, Mr. Hasan Fard, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Trends & Technologies, Inc. was presented with a certificate of recognition for being one of the university's outstanding alumni. The occasion was also held to express the university's appreciation for Mr. Fard's contribution of additional Cisco wireless LAN equipment for the campus's Wi-Mesh Network.

Mr. Fard received the award from the University Rector, Very Rev. Fr. Rolando dela Rosa, O.P, Rev. Fr. Winston Cabading, O.P. – Director of the Santo Tomas e-Service Providers and Dr. Evelyn Songco from the Office for Alumni Relations.

Also present during the ceremony was Assoc. Prof .Ma. Beatriz Lacsamana, Assistant Director for Network Operations of the Santo Tomas e-Service Providers and Assoc. Prof. Giovanna Fontanilla, Director of the Office of Public Affairs.


Mr. Fard, who studied Electronics and Communications Engineering in UST, graciously accepted the award and said that his contribution was in tune with the desire to keep his beloved alma mater at par with the latest technologies. Surely, the additional equipment will ensure that UST's students will be able to maximize their learning opportunity at the prestigious university.
